“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
—John Adams, President of the United States, 1797–1801
Perhaps this quote by John Adams, one of our nation’s most influential founding fathers, highlights the critical point to which we have come in America. If morality and religion are necessary to the survival of our constitutional government, given our rapid moral decline, how long will it be until we can no longer function? This question is at the heart and soul of why the National Center for Life and Liberty exists. It’s also one of the reasons why Attorneys David Gibbs III and Barbara J. Weller wrote the book, Understanding the Constitution. They understood that the intentional efforts on the part of many to eradicate religion and morality in this nation, coupled with the ignorance of entire generations of young people as to the Christian heritage of their nation, are working together to destroy America.
