The Health Department of Michigan in coordination with the governor’s office has put in place new requirements for COVID-19. After reviewing the mandate and confirming with the governor’s office, the order states that religious facilities are not subject to any penalty under the order. The order requests limited attendance for venues with fixed seating at 20% capacity or in Region 6, limiting attendance to 25% capacity. However, this order has a religious worship opt out as stated below.

  • Neither a place of religious worship nor its owner is subject to penalty under this order for allowing religious worship at such place. No individual is subject to penalty under this order for engaging in religious worship at a place of religious worship.

It is important to note that this new executive order does not require any changes for churches except to re-emphasize the mask mandate. If you have any questions about this update or would like to discuss how this order affects your church or ministry, please contact us at 888-233-6255 or by email at info@ncll.org.
