Seven Ways You Can Support Women and Children on the Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
On January 22, 1973, seven U.S. supreme court (SCOTUS) justices unjustly stripped all fifty states (and the District of Columbia) from their legal right to fully protect their weakest, most vulnerable citizens.
Since then, 62 million children have been terminated in their mothers’ wombs—more than the entire current population of California and New York State combined.
Here are seven ways you can boldly support women and children today:
We ask our Heavenly Father for justice for the innocent, new life for the lost, and comfort for the suffering. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).
Technology has proven unborn children have a heartbeat at about six weeks, can feel pain anywhere from eight to twenty weeks, and can survive outside the womb as early as twenty weeks and five days.
We grieve that every day in America 1,700 children are aborted. “In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not” (Matthew 2:18).
We defend the defenseless at every stage of life. In the courts, in capitals, and in the culture, we stand up for life and religious liberty. If it’s wrong, we fight it. If it’s right, we fight for it. And we fight for you.
In 2019, Gallop polling also confirmed a TOTAL OF 62% OF AMERICAN WOMEN OPPOSE ABORTION IN MOST OR ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. Specifically, Gallop asked American women for their opinions on abortion in terms of legality and under what circumstances, and a MAJORITY OF AMERICAN WOMEN believe “abortions should be illegal in all circumstances” (24%) or “legal only in a few circumstances” (38%).
So, when you hear politicians, pundits, and celebrities promote abortion on demand, know they do NOT represent a majority of women, as they claim.
FYI: MORE WOMEN (51%) ARE PRO-LIFE THAN MEN (46%).
God works in broken hearts longing for His grace and goodness. As people come from death to life, they set aside the lies of the world for the truths of God’s Word.
Youths need tutoring and other discipleship to help keep them hopeful and healthy. As the world gives them false promises and encourages them to “do what feels right,” a godly mentor can make all the difference in a young person’s life.
Several states have passed legislation that directly confront Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood. Others have enshrined the most extreme elements of these cases into state law. Your involvement can make a difference as we continue the struggle to put abortion in our past as a nation and recognize the sanctity of life.
We hope these different options to defend women and children will inspire you and you’ll take the initiative to share this article with someone you respect. Together, we can and will save lives.
