Protect Your Church with Our Legal Health Check-Up Series Learn More

Every week, the National Center for Life and Liberty (NCLL) receives calls from pastors, administrators, and ministry leaders facing complex legal challenges.

Behind each call is a story: a church striving to stay faithful while navigating government regulations, property disputes, personnel matters, and the growing hostility toward biblical truth.

Each month, the NCLL fields more than 1,500 inbound requests from ministries across America, providing counsel, clarity, and in many cases, immediate resolution. What could become a crisis for a church is often addressed before it ever reaches a courtroom because the NCLL is there to answer the call.

When legal battles do arise, our attorneys take on four to five new cases each week, more than 25 every month, defending ministries in courtrooms nationwide. From protecting parental rights and free speech to defending religious schools and ministries from government intrusion, these cases are about more than just legal victories.

Beyond defense, the NCLL also equips ministries to stand strong before trouble comes. Through a growing library of more than 100 policies and procedures, we help churches prepare for issues ranging from child safety and facility use to employment law and nonprofit compliance. These proactive measures ensure that pastors can focus on shepherding their flocks, not on deciphering legal codes or defending lawsuits.

In all, the NCLL serves over 5,000 churches each year, standing beside ministries of every size and denomination with trusted legal protection and biblical conviction.

The mission is simple yet urgent: to ensure the Gospel remains unhindered by the burdens of legal threats. When pastors can preach without fear and churches can minister without interruption, lives are changed, communities are strengthened, and the light of Christ shines more clearly in our nation.

That is why the work of the NCLL matters, because every legal victory we secure and every problem we prevent helps keep the church’s focus where it belongs: on proclaiming the truth and reaching souls for Christ.
