You’ve probably heard about the movie, Unplanned. It follows the journey of former Planned Parenthood clinic director, Abby Johnson, who had a change of heart when reality landed on her.
Disturbingly, powerful forces attempted to silence its hopeful message of redemption. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) unfairly gave it an R-rating. (Ironically, young women under the age of seventeen can GET an ABORTION without parental consent in many states, but COULDN’T WATCH a MOVIE exposing the truth of abortion). Twitter temporarily suspended the movie’s promotional account and forcibly “unfollowed” tens of thousands its followers “accidentally” DURING ITS OPENING WEEKEND.
The uneven treatment of this movie has been so blatant, director Chuck Konzelman, was recently called to testify before the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution. He called out Google (and most television properties) for rejecting their ads. A news writer also recently caught Google’s “overview” feature in their search results described the movie as “propaganda.”
We shouldn’t be surprised about the pro-abortion/anti-Christian bias of tech giants at this point. The NCLL continues our fight in court against Amazon.com’s unequal treatment of nonprofits. They actively support Planned Parenthood (a “charity” that kills innocent children) and discriminate against D. James Kennedy Ministries (a respected legacy ministry that preaches truths of God’s Word).
This small, but important film has grossed roughly three times its production costs. It’s impossible to know how much greater its reach would have been without Hollywood and Big Tech attempting to smother its marketing efforts. So much for freedom of expression!!!
