After countless fervent prayers and the public outcry of tens of thousands of Christians on behalf of seven-year-old James Younger , the boy’s father will purportedly have a say in his medical treatment moving forward.

On Monday, a Dallas-Ft. Worth-area jury voted 11-1 to strip James’s father of his ability to defend his son from chemical abuse advocated by his mother. Judge Kim Cooks of the 255th district presided over the jury trial that would have deprived Jeffery Younger of his parental rights and given “sole managing conservatorship” to James’s mother, who insists on medically sterilizing him and “transitioning” him using puberty blockers.

Until recently, the great majority of mental health professionals would describe pediatrician Anne Georgulas’s behavior to be psychologically, sexually, spiritually, and emotionally abusive toward her son.

Physician and U.S. Senator Rand Paul noted on one social media platform, “We don’t let kids drink alcohol til 21. People want to move smoking age to 21. But we will allow a 7 year old to have his life and body altered like this? This is child abuse and the state should side with the father who is trying to protect the child.”

During the pushback against the jury’s horrifying decision, several high-profile social media users complained that comments favoring a biblical view of gender and sexuality were being hidden or demoted. The national media largely ignored the case until a united groundswell brought the issue to the fore.

Once Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced “the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services” were looking into the case, Judge Cooks declared a gag order on both James Younger and Dr. Anne Georgulas from talking to the press. She backed away from the jury’s decision and awarded “joint conservatorship” to both parents.

Please continue praying for both James and Jeff as they go through this ordeal. May the Lord have mercy on this young boy and deliver him from irreversible physical and mental abuse.
